The countour makes cutting the bindings tricky. My binding ledge cutter doesn't like the way the side flares here, so I stop short of the countoured area.
I use this setup to do the contoured area.
It can follow the edge without being affected too much by the flare of the side.
When I am actually gluing the binding on I will check to make sure it is going to end up slightly proud of the fingerboard. If it is not I slip a little piece of veneer behind the end of it to tip the edge out. This one came out "just" flush.
