Throughout the building assembly process, the colors and visual textures of the wood are carefully considered within the context of the instrument as a whole. Balance and visual integration are key concepts in this process of "composing" the visual character of the completed instrument. I don't do much inlay, rather I try to bring forth the natural beauty of the wood in an artistic and harmonious way.

I finish my guitars with nitrocellulose lacquer. The finish is applied slowly over a period of weeks and then allowed to cure for at least a full month before being carefully leveled and polished. The result is a beautifully clear, level and durable finish.
